All products from the Stabifix, Stabiquick and Stabiclear product range are high purity adsorbers, which are insoluble in beer and fully removable from beer by means of sedimentation or filtration. They interact physically, do not cause chemical reactions nor leave behind reaction products and comply with all international standards for food processing aids and the German Beer Purity Law.
The various product grades are selectively adsorbing proteinaceous and polyphenolic haze precursors or support the reduction of colloidal particles. There are no negative effects on flavour or beer foam. All products are harmless, can be applied without additional investments and stored under simple conditions.
All Stabifix stabilisers can be used alone but are also optimized for combined application to achieve highest clarity and stability results.

The family of xerogels Stabifix Super and Stabiquick Strong represent the low moisture products at a moisture level of 8-12%, while Stabifix NT is slightly increased in moisture at 18%. All products are very effective stabilisers due to their defined pore volume, which is the key parameter for the selective removal of haze reactive proteins. The products vary slightly in their pore volume, particle size and shape, so they give optimum stabilisation and filtration performance in different beer types.

In the endeavour of Stabifix Brauerei-Technik to meet the brewing industry´s demand for a most effective protein stabilizers with improved handling and filtration characteristics, hydrated xerogels have been developed. It is specified to close the gap between xerogel and hydrogel, thus combining the advantages of both types as there are a high stabilisation effect, an instantaneous reaction, a sharp filtration without affecting the filter throughput, no adverse effect on foam and flavour while being easy to handle with minimised dust formation.

Hydrogels are finely milled silica gels with a moisture content up to 65 %. They are low in dust formation and optimized for high filter throughputs but limited in their stabilisation effect, so hydrogels are often used in combination with other stabilisers.

Silicasol (silicic acid hydrosol) has been used in the beverage industry since 1940. In 1983 Dr. Raible indicated the possibility of using Stabisol for the improvement of the filtration properties of beer. There are different Stabisol grades available depending on whether the treatment is meant to be done in the brewhouse or at maturation stage. An addition of Stabisol to wort or beer results in the crosslinkage of SiO2 particles to form a hydrogel. Haze is formed, which then progresses to…

Stabifix Brauerei-Technik has developed an application knowledge for PVPP, that yet has to be met in the industry. Today the Stabiclear PVPP grades are optimised for the application together with Stabifix and Stabiquick silica stabilisers. Stabiclear provides best filtration characteristics, with no particle break-through at filtration stage, and superior stabilisation efficacy, particularly when combined with Stabiquick silicas. Stabiclear is produced according to strict quality guidelines set by Stabifix Brauerei-Technik and subject to permanent internal quality and performance control.
